This residence was among the first homes designed for the new phase of the luxury Eye of Africa estate in southern Johannesburg.
The design of this house was meticulously tailored to meet the tastes and needs of the client and her family. Aesthetically, she sought a modern yet distinct look that set her home apart from others in the estate.
This project presented both excitement and challenges, as it involved balancing the client’s specific requirements with the need to create a unique and modern exterior while adhering to the estate’s architectural guidelines.
This modern office pod concept was designed for future clients interested in constructing a visually appealing, freestanding wooden structure that complements rather than detracts from their property.
These versatile pods can serve various functions, including office space, one- or two-bedroom cottages, or other types of rooms as needed.
Constructed from wood, the pods offer a faster build time compared to traditional methods. Their freestanding nature provides flexibility, allowing for easy relocation within the property or even resale if no longer needed.
This concept was developed in collaboration with a property developer who acquired a prime parcel of land in the upscale Bedfordview township.
The challenge was to create a design that would immediately attract attention and stand out among the existing homes in the area.
We aimed to address the needs and preferences of the average family while adhering to the allowable square meterage per house.
The plan was to construct eight of these homes to complete the development.
